I live in Southern Arizona, therefore it makes sense that that bulk of my Arizona photography is of this wondrous and varied land. From the Sonoran Desert to the grasslands sporting antelope, to the mountains and lakes, the southern third of my great state has so many incredibly beautiful vistas and some hidden treasures. Many people are not aware that the 1955 movie “Oklahoma” was filmed in the San Raphael valley. Those green rolling hills covered with oak and walnut trees passed for mid-western state. I’ve always wondered if others did not notice the mountains in the background of the movie, knowing that Oklahoma has no mountains, only hills, and none that look like ours. My southern Arizona notecards are a small sampling of the beauty to be found in the land that I love.
