It was magical. Simply magical. Two of my sisters and I made the decision to travel to the top of Mt Lemmon for a ‘farewell’ trip of sorts, since one sister was moving out of town. We were all hoping to see some Fall leaves (and I, of course, was hoping to capture some autumn color). What we encountered not only met our expectations–it exceeded them. We arrived at the only stand of maple trees on all of Mt Lemmon and it is a little-known (but becoming increasingly popular) hidden glen where a few trees are visible from the highway. You have to park and hike to see the truly breath-taking groupings of trees lining a high mountain meadow. It was a drizzly day on The Lemmon~unusual for our area. Misty rain off and on created the PERFECT lighting conditions for capturing brilliant colors and diffused light. The results speak for themselves. Several of these images have become best sellers in print and a couple have been included in Arizona Highways Magazine blog galleries for weekly themes. I hope you enjoy these as much as I still do. I will never forget the magic of that day, I re-live it every time I look at these.
Most of these images are available for purchase as note cards or custom-sized prints for framing or in canvas.
